My 50 Favorite Albums Of All Time

So I made my list of my Top 100 Favorite Songs Of All Time, it only felt right I did albums next. Albums are a lot different than songs because they need to be cohesive projects with a theme. One song doesn’t make an album great, and the whole thing has to come together to make an enjoyable experience for the listener.

The albums I’ve chosen are more than just a group of good songs to me. Each album I’ve chosen has transcended music for me, and has created a work of art that is fresh, insightful, colorful, impactful and beautiful to listen to.

I chose each album based on a few different factors. Album artwork, enjoyability of the songs, production style, theme and mood, song writing, cultural relevance, artist or bands honesty in their music, tying together of the album, storytelling, evolution of concepts and just overall my own personal preference.

So reader, enjoy this list and hopefully you can find some new favorite albums to listen to! I’m sure you’re going to disagree with a lot of my picks, so let me know in the comments what are your favorites! There is a Spotify link at the bottom of this list with all 50 albums in it for you to listen to as well. Enjoy!

  1. Always interesting to see what different people like- of course on a favorites list there are no right or wrong answers. I think about 5 would make my Top 50- Van/ Astral Weeks/ The Who- Who’s Next/ Led Zeppelin IV/ The Clash- London Calling/ Dylan- Blonde On Blonde- and another 5 or so would make my Top 100. Lists are hard to make!

  2. So glad to see you had a few from my (older) generation. I do disagree with your Pink Floyd choice. I think Dark side of the Moon was much better.
I also wished one of Chicago’s album had made it in there. I love the brass and woodwinds!
I also liked Magazine for a Heart album over Dreamboat Annie.
Definitely impressed with the mix you had in your list. 👏🏻 Well done.
